JFire

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a huge area - not only different sectors require individual solutions, but also companies working in the same market often have fundamentally different workflows and structures. Therefore, a "ready-made" ERP system is hardly able to meet all demands.

At the same time, there are many common requirements, e.g. in accounting, dunning and customer relationship management.

One framework for many applications

Taking all these considerations into account, we designed JFire as a modular framework, which already contains modules for many useful features, e.g. user management and invoicing etc. Furthermore, it can be extended easily. Already today, there exist many applications which have built on the JFire platform: Starting with the access control system Yak over accounting tools to our new ticketing solution CrossTicket . JFire simplifies a wide range of application areas by using only one system.

JFire ERP in detail

Free Software

JFire is free software (sometimes referred to as open source software) released under the LGPL . By using JFire, you will benefit from the following advantages:

  • Transparency (all source codes are public)
  • Higher security than proprietary software, because the result is evaluated and criticised by at least one person concerning technical content and quality.
  • The outcome of this is higher stability and code quality.
  • No vendor lock-in (also known as proprietary lock-in: a state in which a customer cannot switch to another vendor, because the switching costs would be too high)
  • No license fees! The usage of JFire is therefore completely free of charge!
  • Only user support or similar services are charged by us. Of course, we would be happy to sell you our services, but these services are also offered by other companies, because JFire has a huge community .

Modularity in all areas

Modularity all over the place

The server, the rich client based on the Eclipse-RCP as well as the web functionality are divided into several modules. That simplifies not only maintenance, but also significantly enhances the extensibility of the system. In accordance to your requirements, you can choose only the modules that you really need. Of course, new modules can easily be added later on. By using JFire, you can build up your individual system.

Trading Network

Trading Network

Most companies operate in a network of trading partners: They purchase products from their partners and sell/resell them after possibly processing them. JFire is therefore optimised for the interaction with different trading partners as shown in the following diagram:

Digital products can be delivered "on-the-fly" within the JFire network. For physical or 'real' products JFire provides a warehouse management so that supplies are ordered in time.

Latest Technologies

Latest Technologies

Those who already know JavaEE (aka J2EE ), JDO and the Eclipse RCP , certainly appreciate the numerous advantages of these systems. Open standards like these do not only simplify the extensibility and long-term maintainability, but also the interaction with other systems (e.g. the ERP system of a supplier).

Scalability

Scalability

Due to its underlying technologies, JFire can be operated on multiple servers and can therefore grow with your enterprise.
